Yoga teaches us that we are more than just skin, bones, fat, etc…and we are more than our thoughts and feelings, diagnosis…we are Whole beings.
You will experience full body practices that will include mindful movement, breathing practices (pranayama), mudra (hand gestures), meditation/contemplation, sound healing, journaling, and self care practices. These practices are just some of the ways we will soothe and strengthen the body, calm the mind, relax the nervous system, and build inner resilience in a like-minded community of support.
This practice is open to anyone at any stage of the cancer diagnosis path but you must be ambulatory.
Chairs will be provided if you find it uncomfortable to sit on the floor.Â
If you are newly diagnosed and receiving treatment or within 3 months of completing treatment, you Must have all your physicians approval to attend, including but not limited to: general practitioner, oncologist, therapist, surgeon, etc…It is always advised to have Dr. approval before beginning any new physical activity.
